When you mention the cornerstones of ZXWWF, you can't leave Dean Maddoxxx out of the list. At the start of his career in 2006, the former 5 time Cruiserweight/XC Division/Gen-NeXt Division Champion has cemented his name in the ZXWWF history books as well as the Xplosion roster. Not only has he been part of arguably the best rivalry in ZXWWF history in 2007 with former ZXWWF star "Guardian Angel" Gabriel Wingue, but he had a hand in bringing the Gen-NeXt Division to the spotlight.
One of Dean's more interesting feuds was with "Black Shadow", who was later exposed as the ex-wife of Gabriel Wingue, Amanda Cortez. This sparked a whole new rivalry between the three stars over the newly made Gen-NeXt Championship. His other rivals also include Justice, the first female Gen-Next Champion ever. Many people saw their match as a passing of the torch from Maddoxxx to Justice as he declared the match to be his last for the Gen-Next Division Championship.
His list of accomplishments also include the infamous 'Retirement' match with Shia Storm, which was his seen as Shia's last match in the ZXWWF at Mania IV.
Shortly after Mania, Maddoxxx had taken a sebaticle from the ZXWWF, but most recently on the July 30th edition of 'Xplosion', a refocused Maddoxxx had returned stated that he had needed to do some "soul searching" in order to stay relevant within the ZXWWF roster. Now that the ZXWWF Championship has been vacated, Maddoxxx thought that now is the right time to insert himself in the revival of the main event scene by aligning himself with the newly formed 'Resistance' faction with Chris Jericho, Victor Phillips, Triple H and former rival Amanda Cortez.
At Summertime Suffering, The Resistance were up against The Legion which had an ending that no one even saw coming, not even The Resistance itself: Dean Maddoxxx now became part of ZX's Legion in order to double cross the Resistance. To him, the road to return is nearly complete as he has indeed turned a new leaf in his career.
After becoming an established member of the Legion along with Justice and AJ styles, Dean had set on a new target in Victor Phillips by costing him the ZXWWF title at the Redemption PPV in a Battle Royal to determine the new champion as well as the revival of the main event roster.
Some say that the budding rivalry between him and The Statement will be one of the best of both men's careers to date. Only time will tell as we watch it unfold.
As of late, ZX's Legion stable has been on a major roll as of late when it comes to being victorious. One of the key factors of this would most notably be Maddoxxx's current feud with Victor Phillips as they are tied two matches apart.
Their most recent match, an Ultimate Submission Match put the two warriors together at Dead Or Alive, being dubbed "Phillips / Maddoxxx II".
After what became one of the biggest matches in ZXWWF, and also the careers of both Superstars at that, we saw Dean earn a hard fought victory as he broke the Submission tie 3-2. This would put an end to Victor's one man crusade on the Legion...at least for now.
Now that Riot Control is coming fast, Maddoxxx is returning to his roots as a former Riot Control winner and plans on surviving the all too familiar gauntlet.
