Michaels has made a career of stealing the show – competing in matches that are talked about for years. His rivalries over a career spanning more than 20 years are truly the stuff of legends.
Michaels first started revolutionizing the sport during his partnership with Marty Jannetty as The Rockers. Their wars with “Playboy” Buddy Rose & Doug Sommers in the AWA and then the subsequent rivalries with The Hart Foundation and The Brain Busters in WWE changed the face of tag team wrestling and captured the imagination of our fans. Arguably, Michaels could have gone down as one of the greats if he had chosen to stay primarily in tag team competition. But HBK knew he could become an all-time great. One superkick to Jannetty during Brutus Beefcake’s Barber Shop closed the door on a popular partnership and opened another to Michaels’ legend.

HBK: Now people might think that I am getting older but trust me, this kid right here still wrestle better than 10 superstars, and trust me u are not going to see any less than what u saw from me back in the WWE... now I see there are some old faces around here, people like my old friend Triple H, and old foes like Randy Orton, now you people think that I am a wrestling legend so I am already at the top well I beg the differ, you see I might be one of the most experienced superstar on the roster but trust me I want to start from zero, but that doesn't mean that I will reject any early World Title opportunity... but trust me its not about how many titles u win, its about how many times u defend ur title, and trust me once I win this title I am planning on keeping it for a long time... so its only a matter of time before I am at the top of the ladder again, and I dont care who I must put down to be there, I dont care if u are a friend, a brother, or an enemy, whoever gets in my way will be destroyed and you people will see why I am the best that sports entertainment ever knew
